Stanley Sherman
Stanley “Stan” Everton Sherman, age 86, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021, at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born August 6, 1934, in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada, the son of Bert Alexander Sherman and Viola Lucina (Bertrand) Sherman.
Stan joined Kellogg Company in 1961 as Construction Project Engineer. He held positions as Resident Engineer at Querétaro, Querétaro, Mexico and London, Ontario, Canada. He was Management Consultant to the Kellogg Salada plant management team for Project 2000, and Resident Engineer for Project 100 in Battle Creek. He was a member of Project Management Institute (PMI), and the Battle Creek Engineers Club.
Stan married Dorothy Jean Shaw in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada on January 28, 1961; she sadly preceded him in death on January 19, 2007. He is survived by his children, Tina Marie Sherman-Peel (Patrick Peel) of London, Ontario, Canada; Tammy A. Sherman-Barnard (Michael Barnard) of Battle Creek, Michigan; Marshall S. Sherman (Karen Halder) of Oakdale, California; and Enrique R. “Rick” Sherman of Phoenix, Arizona; his grandchildren, Sean E. Busma (Samantha Driedger) of London, Ontario, Canada; David M.A. Barnard of Allegan, Michigan; Tyler Pell of Outremont Quebec, Canada and Travis Peel of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada; and his brother, Bert Sherman (Betty) of Dorchester, Ontario, Canada.
Stan was a member of the Belmont Masonic Lodge #190 in London, Ontario, Canada; Bedford Masonic Lodge #207, Bedford, Michigan; Battle Creek Shrine Club, Battle Creek, Michigan and its Mini “T” Patrol; the Scottish Rite Freemasonry, Grand Rapids, Michigan; Saladin Shiners, Grand Rapids, Michigan; International Royal Order of Jesters, Inc.; and a board member for the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Chicago.
At the request of family, a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children in Chicago, Illinois or to the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo, Michigan, would be appreciated.
